Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about NDIS services and support.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a program that provides support and services to people with disabilities in Australia. It aims to assist individuals in achieving their goals, enhancing their independence, and improving their overall quality of life.
To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be under the age of 65 and have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to participate in everyday activities. You must also be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa.
To apply for the NDIS, you need to complete an Access Request Form and provide supporting documentation. This form can be obtained from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) website or by contacting their helpline. Once your application is submitted, it will be assessed by the NDIA.
The NDIS provides a wide range of services and supports, including capacity building, accommodation, and core services. These services are designed to assist individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, psychosocial disabilities, and other disabilities in areas such as direct support, community access, social inclusion, independent living, and peer support.
